Milk has been an important part of the Irish diet ever since the first herds of cattle were introduced to Ireland in the Stone Age, circa 4,000 BC.

Here at Wexford Creamery, we’ve been producing the finest quality dairy products from local suppliers, refining and extending our range to suit modern Irish consumers. Whether you’ve got an active family to shop for, or you’re a health-conscious great-grand-dad, we’ve got a milk product to suit you.

Wexford Creamery Butter MilkButterMilk
Buttermilk is lower in fat and calories than regular milk because the fat from buttermilk has already been removed. Traditionally buttermilk was considered more easily digestible than whole milk as it contains more lactic acid than skim milk. Due to being more easily digestible (a result of the bacteria added to the milk), protein and calcium can be taken up more easily by the body.

Buttermilk comes into its own when you bake with it - the creamy taste will leave your family wanting more.

The Science Bit

Milk forms an important component of our daily balanced diet. It serves as a source of calcium that makes our bones and teeth strong.

Milk also provides us with high quality proteins that contain essential amino acids, which the body is incapable of producing by itself.

One glass of milk is a rich source of our recommended daily vitamins.
