2011 – Nantwich
Wexford Creamery won several awards at the recent International Cheese Awards held in
Nantwich
A list of the Awards are as follows:
- Gold medal in the Extra Mature Category – open to non-UK
- Best Irish Mature – Kerrygold Cup
- Gold medal and Cargill Cup with an IDB entry awarded annually for the Best Mild Cheddar.
- Bronze medal for Mild Cheddar
EIQA Award 2009
Wexford Creamery took home the Q Mark Awards for Hygiene & Food Safety in the category of Food Processors & Producers and was also short listed in the Food Manufacturers category. This award was for the Liquid Facility at Wexford.- Sodexo, Wexford Creamery’s Canteen facility also received an award for Hygiene & Food Safety in the category of Catering.
SEI Energy Awards – 2009
Wexford Creamery scooped first prize at the 6th Annual Energy awards 2009 on November 19th last. The All-Ireland event awards excellence in Business Management & this year included entries from over 100 companies.- Wexford managed to take the top spot in their category ‘Leading Energy Efficiency Project’ with their EASI Project (Energy Awareness Savings
Initiatives), which was implemented by The Energy Team. - The Energy team implemented an intensive 10-week energy efficiency
project, working closely with maintenance personnel & operators to carry
out a range of actions including monitoring, energy audits & adjusting of
production schedules. Within 10 weeks Wexford reduced their baseline usage by
almost 50%. Judges comments included - “Exemplar project shows what can be done on an older plant through a programme of simpler measures by concerted effort from enthusiastic staff, very replicable.”
